These chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, will become your go to forever cookies! I promise!
Chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies
I added old fashioned oats and walnuts to the recipe. They provide great texture and flavor. Plus they are baked at a slightly higher temperature of 375 F. So they turn out slightly crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. Welcome to cookie heaven!

Equipment
- small Ice cream scoop (optional ) I used one slightly smaller than the standard size
- Baking trays
- Stand or hand held mixer
Ingredients
- 4 oz unsalted butter slightly softened (113 g)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tsps vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 F
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Measure the dry ingredients, oats, flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and set aside
- Mix the butter and sugars in a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment
- add the vanilla and egg and mix
- add the dry ingredients and mix
- lastly add the chocolate chips and walnuts and combine
- scoop the dough out with an ice scream scoop onto the baking tray
- bake for 5 mins turn the tray around and bake for another 5 mins, until golden brown
